Straight North is seeking a talented and experienced Conversion Tracking Strategist to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for architecting, implementing and troubleshooting conversion tracking and attribution solutions across a wide variety of clients, industries and digital marketing platforms.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically proficient, analytical and comfortable solving complex tracking and attribution challenges across ad platforms, websites, CRMs and third-party systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate conversion tracking, campaign optimization and ROI reporting for our clients.

This is a flexible remote/office position in our Downers Grove, IL office requiring one day in the office per week.

Responsibilities

  • New Client Onboarding & Implementation
    • Conduct conversion tracking audits for new clients to identify tracking issues, determine solutions and develop implementation plans.
    • Implement and validate standard conversion tracking across client websites, Google Tag Manager (GTM), advertising platforms and Google Analytics (GA4).
    • Document tracking requirements and support clients implementing tracking using their internal resources.
    • Communicate tracking recommendations, implementation requirements and technical findings clearly to internal teams and clients.
    • Support custom tracking implementations involving client websites, CRMs and third-party platforms.
  • Tracking, Attribution & Integrations
    • Implement, configure and manage conversion tracking across Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics (GA4), Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads and CallRail.
    • Configure and support Google Ads offline conversion tracking, including Salesforce and HubSpot integrations and Enhanced Conversions for Leads.
    • Configure and support advanced measurement and attribution solutions, including Enhanced Conversions, server-side tracking and Google Tag Gateway.
    • Support integrations between websites, CRMs, advertising platforms and third-party systems, including Zapier.
  • Existing Client Optimization & Troubleshooting
    • Audit, optimize and reimplement tracking solutions to improve measurement accuracy and campaign performance.
    • Troubleshoot conversion tracking, attribution and integration issues across websites, CRMs and advertising platforms.
    • Use browser developer tools, tag debugging tools and platform diagnostics to identify, investigate and resolve tracking issues.
  • Internal Collaboration & Process Improvement
    • Assist in improving tracking standards, QA processes and operational best practices across the agency.
    • Stay current on evolving advertising platform requirements, privacy changes, attribution models and tracking technologies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in digital marketing analytics, marketing operations, conversion tracking, paid media analytics or a related role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Analytics (GA4) and conversion tracking implementation across major advertising platforms.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting conversion tracking within Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Meta Ads and LinkedIn Ads.
  • Experience with CallRail, Salesforce, HubSpot and offline conversion tracking implementations.
  • Experience configuring and supporting integrations between websites, CRMs, advertising platforms and third-party systems, including Zapier.
  • Strong understanding of attribution models, conversion tracking methodologies, tracking code implementation and marketing measurement best practices.
  • Strong understanding of browser developer tools, tag debugging platforms and platform diagnostics for testing, troubleshooting and validating tracking implementations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot JavaScript-related tracking and tagging issues; experience writing JavaScript is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple client implementations and clearly explain technical concepts to internal teams and clients.
  • Agency experience strongly preferred. Experience with Enhanced Conversions, ecommerce tracking and Google Tag Gateway is a plus.
  • Hard-working, self-directed, detail-oriented and effective working independently.
