Welcome Bill Welter, New Blogger
Bill Welter, a friend and client, recently launched his business process improvement blog, and I’m excited. Who is Bill Welter? His Adaptive Strategies website tells us -
Bill is a consulting-educator who helps organizations succeed by helping managers excel and prepare for their tomorrows. He connects Louis Pasteur’s quote of “Chance favors the prepared mind” with today’s business realities.
He brings over 40 years of experience spanning four separate careers: military, engineering, consulting and education. He is the managing director of Adaptive Strategies, Inc. He is also a Fellow in Executive Education at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.
What his website doesn’t tell us is that Bill is an engaging conversationalist, a perceptive observer of business culture, and a passionately inquisitive student who is interested in just about everything. Every time I spend time with Bill (usually at Panera Bread), I walk away energized with a head full of ideas.
I really hope you check out Bill’s blog and get to know him. Maybe you want to take a crack at his question, How does a prepared mind prepare? Or perhaps take a shot at this: Have you crossed the Rubicon lately?
Bill is also the author of The Prepared Mind of a Leader: Eight Skills Leaders Use to Innovate, Make Decisions, and Solve Problems. If you work in a medium size or large business, you’ll be certain to learn something useful.

Thanks for the introduction to your community and for the kind words. And for anyone visiting my posts, I’d appreciate feedback and criticism. I want to give business thinkers more to think about — so if you have suggestions I’m wide open to them. These are tough times and we need some new thinking to get us to the new frontiers.
