Whew! Kind of tough for the day before a holiday, eh? Here’s the scoring–

Oh no, I’m socially well-adjusted! Guess I should start learning those words right away. Thanks for the fun quiz! I picked one of those as my new word for this week. :)

    Hi Brad

Thanks for another version of word nerd!

Now I’m wondering about how to score (how nerdish is that?!)

Is it 3 for words that I ‘knew’ without prompting, or 7 that I could answer with your (amazing) multiple choice questions?

And is it just me or was the test particularly hard this time with the inclusion of grampus, pismire, and nictitate?

I clearly have not spent nearly enough hours of my life on crosswords. Will try harder ahead of next time.

PS Option A for parsimonious is inspired. Methinks this should really be the definition of the word

Learningnerd, I saw “bricolage” on your blog today and enjoyed your insights. It’s one of my favorite words, too.

Joanna, my scoring “system” is based on un-prompted answers, although on any scale, I’d say your scores are outstanding.

I think you’ll find the next batch almost as challenging as these. And I should mention, just for the record, that I myself didn’t know all that many of my Word Nerd words. Usually, they’re the ones I have to look up when reading.

Thanks for being aspiring Word Nerds!!
