I think the guess of a combonation of helpful votes, stuff you've bought and reviews written seems likely for their selection criteria. My reviewer rank is in the 8,200 range, and I've done only 102 reviews. On the other hand, I have 468 helpful votes, so maybe the ratio is counted, too? I think the fact that I buy about $150 worth of stuff a month probably helps, too. I’ve only just recently been selected to be in Vine myself.
