MyBlogLog—A New Blogger Community that Rocks

Posted by:

If you’d like to meet top notch bloggers, join MyBlogLog. It’s one of the most intuitive and effective networking sites I’ve encountered. Among its features–

1. Easy to set up your account and profile.

2. Blogs are organized into communities around subject matter, making it easy to find blogs and communities of interest.

3. The process of establishing “contacts” and communicating with other bloggers is fast, easy, and secure.

4. Members can communicate with individual bloggers or entire blog communities; messages can be public or private.

5. The quality of member blogs is excellent, at least for business blogs, an area I’ve explored in some detail. That being the case, MyBlogLog promotes not merely traffic, but true readership.

6. The “Recent Readers” widget (as you see on this blog’s sidebar) nicely personalizes your blog and alerts you to bloggers you’d probably enjoy reading.

The MyBlogLog blog provides community stats and background–take a look. They say that as of December 13, 2006, MyBlogLog has 40,000 registered sites and over 10,000 communities. Large numbers, yes, but far more manageable than trying to find like-minded bloggers from the total pool of 60 million.

Has anyone else formed impressions of MyBlogLog? Will it be around in 2008? I sure hope so!

  1. I have been tinkering at the edges of MyBlogLog but have not yet committed to it. I already use other tools, so don’t know that I want to go through the hassle of learning more/new ones.

  2. Gavin, it definitely takes some time. Can you recommend other tools?
