Great list and I agree with Karen's suggestion. I look for articles for newsletters and best of web links. I don't want to post something that's old even if the content still applies today. I think some leave off the date on purpose so people won't know how old their posts really are. Most blog apps (I'd venture to say all, but I never like to make such a statement) come with the date as the default.

Hi Karen, What an excellent point! For anyone doing research, dates are essential. And, displaying a date on a blog post takes no effort at all, so I wonder if bloggers leave dates off more by design or by oversight?

Hi Brad, excellent list. One of the things that used to drive me crazy as a reader was a business/information blog with no dates on the post. I was not blogging and did not have a list of blogs to read. I found posts through search engine queries. I'd land on a good piece of information but without a date it was hard to place it in context. I still hate that! I would also say make it easy to comment. Don't make me register or jump through hoops because mostly I won't!

Hi Kay, It figures I would leave content out of my list! :) You are absolutely right, of course. By the way, you certainly practice what you preach.
